When you first enter the place, the game plays a short scene. J'Nah's superior appears - a hooded woman-like creature - and asks for an orb. J'Nah answers that she has not got it yet, as she has been betrayed. The hooded figure threatens J'Nah with instant death if she can't get this item soon and disappears. |
|
If you take the first choice, I hope you made a few preparations. J'Nah
uses painful spells, and she's got with her three warriors, a hellhound
and Quemozeng, a mephit-looking companion. If you have the flask of
powder Tymofarrar gave you,
throw it on her and she's get half her hit points down at once. If you
made a deal with the gnolls,
they'll come to help you too, chief Gishnak among them. When everything
is finished (her death brings you 420XP!), you can pick up many useful
items on J'Nah's body: a Phylactery of Ice (see below), boots of Hardiness+1,
an amulet of Will+1, the Dragon
Tooth, gems and her staff of Power. If the gnolls are dead, you
can also collect some good weapons. (And you won't be able to get back
to the Gnoll Caves with the rope. The Chieftain
Cave will be totally empty.) |
If
you want to work for her - which means killing Tymofarrar
- she'll give you a Phylactery of Ice which you can use on yourself to
give you a better chance against him (it will turn you into a Frost Giant,
but only near the dragon). And she'll also ask for the Tower item. You'll
get no reward until you bring her back this item to her! - which is unlikely,
I am afraid, as you need it to get to the following chapter.Beware any confidence she could make about herself, she would decide that you know too much after that and you might have no time to prepare yourself for combat. They are interesting, though. Her name is Daemonfey and she is an elf bred to demon. She is looking for others like her because her aim is to destroy Alustriel. |
