1. Entrance

This room is empty, but you'll find a sleeping gnoll in the next one, to which you can give a coup de grâce. Right behind this gnoll, in the corridor, there is a gong. There are many of them in these caves, always near gnolls groups. If you let a gnoll ring a gong, you'll get more gnolls coming to the group rescue, and four of them will be coming from both Empty Rooms. This will also make the gnolls more easily aware of your presence.

2. Gnoll Guards

You'll find here a group of gnolls (warriors and archers). Try to make them all fight, else one is going to ring the nearest gong.

3. Empty Rooms

You can rest in these rooms if need be. If a gnoll has rung a gong, four gnolls will spawn from these rooms and attack you (even if you closed the doors).

4. Glendir

This man is kept in a separate cell because he claims is the son of the Baron of Hilltop. Of course you know that there is no Baron of Hilltop and he can easily tell you the truth: he is Fiona's brother, and he wanted the gnolls to believe he is valuable so he would not be eaten. The key to open his cell can be found in the nearest crate. If you take Glendir to the exit, he'll thank you with 100XP.

5. Slaves Den

The south door is not to be opened from outside. You'll have to use the north entry first and of course get rid of the gnolls guarding the place. Pick up a key on one of the gnolls remains. You can now use the lever to open the south door.

These men and women kept behind the locked door are from Blumberg. They were attacked one day ago. They want to seek refuge in Hilltop. You can free them, using the key you just found and you'll get 200XP for this (mind that there is no gnoll around when you do so). If you propose to take them to Hilltop yourself, you'll get a shift toward good, and even more if you give them money.

6. Animals Den

The beast master rings the gong as soon as he sees you. On his body you can find his horn. Blowing it will turn the wild bears locked in their cage friendly for a while.

When the bears have turned friendly, the only thing you can do for them is to end their life of suffering. You'll get point toward good it you do so.

7. Jail

The warden also rings the gong as soon as he sees you. On his body you can pick up the gnoll jail key. Three cells are empty (though searching the bones in one of them is a good idea), and a great many kobolds are locked in the fourth. Nafeeli can speak for all of them. This group belonged to the kobolds which attacked Hilltop! If you have not yet been to the kobolds cave, it could be a good idea to keep calm and free them all (though you won't get any immediate reward for this).

8. Goblin Wizard

Behind a trapped and locked door a goblin wizard and his worg are resting. Mind the trap on the carpet right in front of them. In book piles you'll find an ancient tome which seems to be the wizard journal. The ruins uncovered below are Netherese in origin. The 'sorceress' is taking any interesting artifact left, and the wizard has sent apprentices to discover more.

9. Chieftain's Hall

Chief Gishnak stands among many gnolls! But he is ready to speak with you first (unless you touch any container in this room). You can easily discover that he hates J'Nah who has driven the old chief out as soon as she came two moons ago. If you tell him you wish to kill J'Nah, he won't attack you and you'll be free to move around, as soon as you don't free any slave, steal anything in the caves nor attack any gnoll from now on. (You should better have done the more of it before this conversation.) Gishnak will also give you the key to the Lower Level. You can even make a deal with him so he'll send gnolls to help you kill J'Nah.
If you have got rid of all the gnolls in these cave - apart from these in this room - he can even propose his 'men's help to kill her.

10. Chieftain's Cave

The door to this room is trapped, just like two of its chests. It is anyway worth it to search everything in there.

11. To Lower Level

When you have got the key from Gishnak (alive or dead), you can enter the Underground Ruins from here, using a rope dangling inside a pit.
